April Employee of the Month: Charlie Wells

Charlie has done a fantastic job over the last year and a half embracing the Schad Culture. Charlie has a positive attitude all the time and it is reflected in the team he is leading. Charlie comes into work early and stays late making sure jobs get done safely and efficiently and has a “do whatever it takes” mentality. Charlie is a great leader for the younger generation of guys who are willing to ask questions and learn from him.

1. How long have you worked with Schad?
Just over a year (I have over 25 years of experience in refractory).

2. Who has taught you the most while working at Schad?
It’s hard to pick just one, I learn from so many different tradesmen.

3. What is your favorite part about your job?
The people.

4. What do you think contributes most to a safe work environment?
Good information and being your brother’s keeper.

5. What lessons have you learned while working at Schad?
Change is not always a bad thing.

6. What advice do you have for future Schad candidates?
Good people here and learn everything you can and always pay attention to your surroundings.

7. What do you like to do outside of work?
Trail riding with friends.

8. If you could learn anything, what would it be?
How to fly a plane.

9. If you could go to one concert, past or present, which would it be?
Tyler Childers.

10. If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
Pay off my family’s mortgage loans.
