MEET CHARLES JANOW

Charles has earned the honor of being Schad’s Employee of the Month for his continued technical competence, dedication to safety, and quality of workmanship, thus providing outstanding customer service for the company. Charles is very dependable for the accomplishment of any assigned task. His technical competency and Welder/Fitter skills are outstanding. His ability to take on new or complex jobs adds enormous value towards job completion and high quality. Charles can accomplish any assigned workload alone, or work within a team environment. Charles displays a daily positive “can-do” attitude; always searching for new workload challenges, and greatly contributes to the success of the Fabrication Shop. Charles’ commitment to mission accomplishment, motivation to learn new procedures, being a team player, and always keeping safety and quality foremost, compliments the dedication and attributes of a Schad employee.

 

1. How long have you worked with Schad?

It will be three years this June that I have been employed with Schad.

2. What do you like most about working at Schad?

The opportunity to work in three different fields of work in the Fab Shop; i.e., Steel
Fabrication and Welding, Carpentry and Refractory Operations.

3. What is your favorite part of your job?

The favorite part of the job is undertaking the different types of steel work required.
From simple steel repair work to fabricating complex steel forms for casting products provides new challenges for the different projects that arrive in the Fab Shop.

4. How has Schad helped your career development, and what are your future career goals?

Career development has increased since working at Schad, as Welder/Fitter skills that I have learned are tested frequently. Future career goals are to continue to build on my base knowledge and expand my skills in the refractory field.

5. How would you describe the Schad culture?

A very friendly culture, with emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

6. What is your fondest memory of working at Schad?

Being tasked to build a complex steel form for an aluminum plant filter box without any blueprints.

7. What advice do you have for future Schad candidates?

Take on every task and learn from it; communicate, listen, and apply yourself daily.

8. What do you like to do outside of work?

Relaxing, attending events in the community and spending time with my family, especially my son and daughter.

9. What is something unique about you?

Cooking with a Wok for almost every meal at home.

10. If you could go to one concert, past or present, which would it be?

Led Zeppelin.

11. If given the chance, who would you like to be for a day?

Donald Trump.
