Schad's Employe of the Month Brad RobertsEach month, we take time to recognize an employee who encompasses the values of Schad Refractory and helps us create an even better company. We are privileged to work with some of the best in the industry, and think it’s important to highlight the talented men and women at our company.

Our June 2015 employee of the month is Brad Roberts. Brad has worked at Schad for 18 years, and is constantly evolving the responsibilities of his position. His hard work and dedication have contributed to our company’s growth and allowed us to further flourish. Brad is always reliable and safe, and works hard to ensure our customers are always well taken care of.

Meet Brad Roberts:

When did you start working with Schad?

June 1997 

What do you like most about working at Schad?

Their commitment to safety, I feel Schad cares about my life and well-being and makes sure that I am going home safe.

What is your favorite part about your job?

The variety of the tasks that are asked of me, which creates a challenging environment.

How has Schad helped your career development, and what are your future career goals?

The opportunities that are presented to me. Schad has always invested in my career and success as a tradesman. 

How would you describe the Schad culture?

Positive management team, always supportive and available.

What is your fondest memory of working at Schad?

Starting out with the Schad “old timers.” (Phil Raymond, Frank Stanislawski, John Fairbanks) Those guys taught me a lot and helped pave the way. 

What advice do you have for future Schad candidates?

Always think of a safer way to do your job, always be on time to work, do your job and don’t worry about what the others guys are doing. 

What do you like to do outside of work?

I like sporting events; I enjoy coaching and watching my boys play baseball.

What is something unique about you?

My kids and wife tell me I am inspiring. 

If you could go to one concert, past or present, which would it be?

Van Halen 1984, but I was only 7 at the time.

If given the chance, who would you like to be for a day?

Brad Ausmus
