 Paul Strzelecki Schad's March Employee of the MonthThis month we are proud to honor one of our long time employees, Paul Strzelecki, with Schad’s “Employee of the Month.” In the 23 years, Paul has worked for Schad, he has experience in nearly every industry and application in the refractory industry. His diverse skill set, constant dependability, and respect for his fellow employees and our customers, makes him a perfect example of what Schad looks for in a potential hire.

Paul can always be counted on to do whatever it takes to meet our customers’ expectations. He is known for his strong work ethic and making sure that the interests of the customer, crew, and company are always properly aligned. One of his fondest memories is rebuilding a 100vton brick lined induction furnace for a casting plant in Ohio. “I really enjoyed  the comradery of the local tradesmen,” he says.

Paul’s extensive experience makes him an indispensable resource, particularly for Schad’s less experienced employees. He is eager to share what he has learned over the years and help new tradesmen starting out as he knows that educating his fellow employees will only help Schad continue to uphold its shining reputation.

MEET PAUL STRZELECKI:

How long have you worked with Schad?

I have worked at Schad for 23 years.

What do you like most about working at Schad?

What I like most is being part of a well-respected company with many multi-talented people with state of the art equipment.

Management’s main focus isn’t on profit, there is a mindset on doing a quality job, safely with the customer’s best interest in mind, no matter the cost.

What is your favorite part about your job?

My favorite part of my job is seeing the projects from start to finish, solving all the challenges and problems that might be presented along the way.

How has Schad helped your career development, and what are your future career goals?

Working at Schad has been great for my career. I have worked with and met some of the most respected people in the refractory industry.

My future goals are to continue to work hard, have an open mind, and be a team player.

How would you describe the Schad culture?

The Schad culture portrayed to me is do the best you can, as safe as you can, and finish the job on time and within budget.

What do you like to do outside of work?

My hobbies include outdoor activities like yard work, deer hunting, and snowmobiling in the winter. Also, spending time with my wife.

What is something unique about you?

I am very dedicated and rarely give up.

If you could go to one concert, past or present, which would it be?

I would see Kid Rock, again.

If given the chance, who would you like to be for a day?

If given a chance, I would like to be my dog, Mya, for a day.

What advice do you have for future Schad candidates?

My advice for future Schad candidates is to let them know that this is a very demanding job with great rewards.
