Brian Strzelecki is a guy that is considered for employee of the month every month.  He has a great attitude and cares about his co-workers and the company as a whole.  He has a very strong work ethic, but doesn’t just work hard, he works smart.

Refractory work is very hard work by nature and it can be easy to be negative or complain, but Brian never complains.  He is innovative and is often determined to find more effective and safer ways to perform tasks.

Brian has been with Schad Refractory since 2004, and was awarded July’s Employee of the Month.

All the different tasks there’s always a new challenge

How has Schad helped your career development, and what are your future career goals?

Schad has always made sure I have all the right answers when I have a question. My career goals are to continue to work safely.

How would you describe the Schad culture?

Safety first.

What is your fondest memory of working at Schad?

Working night shift in Vassar on a Fourth of July and going to the top of the cupola at break and being able to see fire works in every direction.

What advice do you have for future Schad candidates?

Have a good attitude no one wants to work with someone who has a bad attitude.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Spend time with my family, go camping, hunting and fishing.

What is something unique about you?

I’m always positive no matter what the situation is.
