Shane Powell is one of Schad’s most well-rounded craftsman. Since joining Schad in 1999, he has become an integral part of the team. He always works hard and is focused, not letting 
anything distract him from getting a project done safely on a consistent basis.
Shane comes ready to work each and every day and takes pride in using, as well as developing, his skills. Shane is multi-versed and is knowledgeable of brickwork, monolithic installations, ceramic fiber, and trowel applied fireproofing; his favorite is laying brick. When he is on the job, Schad can depend on Shane getting a project done in a way that accurately reflects the company’s culture — doing things right, smart, and safe.
Recently, Shane has been spending a lot of his time on the road between multiple jobsites to ensure that the company is represented well to its customers. This has not gone unnoticed. He is a valuable team member and we are appreciative and proud to have him on our team. That is why we are honoring Shane as our August Employee of the Month.

1. What do you like most about working at Schad?
All the guys I work with are good people, I like working with them.
2. How has Schad helped your career development, and what are your future career goals?
I get to work with different craftsmen, they have made me better. My goal is to be a business agent of the Local in Detroit.
3. How would you describe the Schad culture?
Doing things right, smart, and safe.
4. What do you like to do outside of work?
Fishing and baseball.
5. What is something unique about you?
I work well with other people.
6. If you could go to one concert, past or present, which would it be?
Prince.
7. If given the chance, who would you like to be for a day?
Hugh Hefner.
8. What advice do you have for future Schad candidates?
Work hard and listen to the other guys on the job that have good ideas. Also, don’t be afraid to let people know your own ideas.
